Employer Information
High-tech manufacturers know: They can't hope to find all the skilled-workers they'll need to compete in the 21st Century, you will need to develop them.
M-Powered is a collaborative effort of Hennepin Technical College and HIRED, a Twin Cities workforce development organization. The M-Powered Project offers a three-phase training program to prepare workers for five careers; Computer Controlled Micro-Machining Technician, Precision Metal Stamping Technician, Quality Process Technician, R&D Lab Process Technician, and Manufacturing Process Technician. M-Powered focuses on individuals looking for an exciting manufacturing career as well as men and women already working in manufacturing and seeking advancement.
In their first 180 hour session of classroom training, students learn basic skills such as applied math, measuring, print reading and job safety.
Participating employers continue to help shape the M-Powered Project’s design and curriculum. As the demands of the manufacturing industry change, the active participation of a diverse group of manufacturers will assure that the M-Powered Project stays relevant and viable.
